Library joins project to send books to China

Gladstone Public Library, 135 E. Dartmouth St., has embarked on a goodwill project between Oregon and its sister province of Fujian, China. The library has joined with other libraries to collect English language books to be donated to the Oregon State Library's Books for China Project.

The library is collecting books of good quality and in good condition through July. The goal is to send at least four boxes of books. A barrel labeled "Books for China" is in the library's front entrance.

There are some specific restrictions regarding the type of books requested, so check at the front desk or call 503-656-2411 for details.
